Controlled drugs register
In short
The controlled drugs register records every movement, always with a witness. It's counted every week, and any difference opens an investigation for the owner.
Who: pharmacists record; pharmacists, technicians and managers witness. Opening the register, corrections and investigations are the owner's.
Open the register
In Inventory, choose Controlled Drugs. Each drug shows whether its register is open and matches. Export for Inspection gives a month's register as a PDF.
Record a movement
Choose Record Movement and the kind: Received, Destruction, Return, or Correction (owner only). Then follow the screens; a witness signs with their PIN.
Sales of controlled drugs are recorded at hand-over: see Hand over to the patient and be a witness.
The weekly count
When it's due, you get a to-do. Choose Start Weekly Count, count each drug, and sign. If everything matches, Close Count. If not, recount first: a difference is often a movement not yet recorded. If it's still there, Close Count and Open Investigation (two people sign).

Investigations (owner)
An investigation records what was checked (register, CCTV), statements, and the outcome: Found, Confirmed loss or Recording error. Every note is time-stamped and kept with the register. A confirmed loss is reported to the regulator within 7 days: record when and how you sent it. If the drug was locked, closing the investigation lets it be dispensed again.
